Mughal Jaali Folding Screen

Mughal Jaali Folding Screen

This five-panel miniature screen is laser-cut from lightweight wood, echoing the pierced stone jaali found in 16th-century Mughal architecture. The upper sections use a repeating octagon-and-cross lattice seen in the courtyards of Fatehpur Sikri, while each lower panel carries a twelve-point star rosette framed by small arches. Digital cutting recreates the airy delicacy of hand-carved sandstone, letting light spill through the pattern just as it would in a palace window.
